Favorite Ralph Waldo Emerson Quotes

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

I know I have been severely lacking on writing new posts, but I have had a lot of finals this weekend, and

working along side of that. Today, while I have a few minutes between assignments, I wanted to give something to my readers (I think I have a couple…) to ponder. I especially like the last quote in this little compilation. When I began blogging, I began to discover many inspiring quotes, and a majority were by Emerson. He is one of my favorites! Enjoy.

♣ To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.

♣ Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in, forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, you shall begin it well and serenely.

♣ We are always getting ready to live, but never living.

Having the Right Mindset Sets Up Success

Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right ~Henry Ford

I read this quote this morning, and it really struck true. I recalled many instances where friends, fellow students, etc had said either of the two. Go figure, a large majority of the people that said, “I can’t do it” didn’t. Not surprising either, those that said, “I can do this!” usually did.

On another note, I just submitted a guest post for Organize IT, and it should be up within the next day or two. It’s about 9 tips you can practice to become a better listener. I’ll let you know when he has posted it. Thanks everyone!

Ponder…

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

In each of us there are unknown possibilities, undiscovered potentialities— and one big advantage of having an open self-concept rather than a rigid one is that we shall continue to expose ourselves to new experiences and therefore we shall continue to discover more and more about ourselves as we grow older. ~ S. I. Hayakawa
